so the DNC was last week, I didn't think I would watch any of it, but i ended up watching the majority of the speechs. hands down the best one was bill clinton. sorry obama. bill is one of the best public speakers i have ever seen. the reason he had so many votes from the younger population in america was because of is laid back attitude and how he speaks to people. he doesn't sound like a politician, he sounds like a person who knows what they are talking about and wants other people to understand as well. it's rare that i get so excited about political things, but heres one that gave me shivers..
this week has been a little rough on the political front, esp with conversations amongst my peers. one good friend informed me, very seriously, that if obama doesn't win, he's leaving the country. it doesn't suprise me too much. when i went to barcelona i met quite a few americans that left after bush got elected for a second term. it's hard to allow myself to think how badly america is actually doing right now. almost in devistation really. everyone is always saying oh but obama is too idealistic to be president, not enough practice blah blah blah. don't we need someone with such amazing ideals for our country? we need such a radical change, and i see obama as the only solution. i just really really hope he wins. i won't even get into how rediculous the republicans choice in VP is. i had no idea that drama in politicians lives are more important then what they stand for. the fact that a possible next vp is on the cover of celebrity gossip magazines sickens me. but shes a toy that is getting played by the republicans.
i fear for america if mccain wins. any glimpse of the good america will be gone and there will be riots in the street. well i hope so...or will the fact our country is ruined just be accepted?
